Troop 70 has been a continually active troop since 1928 and is the oldest active troop in Newtown, CT. It is a year round troop, meeting in all twelve months of the year and typically has a monthly camping trip.

Troop 70 goes to a Boy Scout summer camp every year (the location varies). The troop engages in a wide variety of activities, including winter camping, skiing, camporees, Klondike derbies, water sports, backpacking, canoeing, and rifle/shotgun shooting.
